Zoya Singh is a multidisciplinary self-taught artist who went to regents business school, London, and eventually dropped out to seek an alternative path. Some of her art is formless with no shape and no meaning because the dreamer in her wants you to dream, feel and create your version .
Her artistic vision lacks a finite endpoint; she embraces the concepts of infinity and continuity, perceiving existence as an ongoing evolution rather than a series of conclusions. Zoya is deeply committed to the belief that we are all interconnected and guided by a higher power, aligning her perspective with the law of cause and effect. She asserts, “Whatever I think of myself, I think of the other,” underscoring her belief that our emotions shape our perceptions of the world. Zoya's values reflect a deep respect for both the minutiae and the grandeur of life, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and honoring all aspects of existence.
My works are heavily inspired by the ancient texts, scrolls and papyrus emerging from pretoglyphs into paper. The ancient washed out, dried out look heavily inspired my practise to keep the pre historic nature of art alive. The technique involves weeks and months of application, subtraction, balancing out and washing the paint mimicking the picking, carving and abrading technique of cave art . To keep the timelessness of it intact.
