Madhurjya Dey received a BVA in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda in the year 2018. In 2020, he earned his MVA in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts. Madhurjya Dey has participated in various exhibitions from the year 2018 to 2021 like the States of Disarray: Practice as Restitution. Along with this, he has been an integral part of many workshops like the 'No Goggle for Earthrise'. Madhurjya Dey has also been a recipient of awards like the Khoj Artist Support Grant in the year 2020 and the Jeram Patel Award in the year 2018. The canvas represents Dey's fictionalized experiences, giving it an autobiographical feel. The artist uses a monochromatic palette of deep blue to create images that illustrate the fear, tension, and monotony of the desolate town he resides in. Madhurjya Dey believes that he can best express his emotions, feelings, fears, and so on with art.
