Bandana Kumari obtained her painting degree from The College of Arts and Crafts, Patna University. She kickstarted her artistic journey by clinching prestigious accolades such as The Mahua Art Gallery & HK Kejriwal Foundation Award, the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation Award, and the Lalit Kala Academy Lucknow Award.

Through her vibrant canvases, she portrays women as the epitome of strength, often depicting them as birds or riding atop lions or elephants, exuding an imagined masculine energy. Her artworks serve as a personal ode to feminism, characterized by a strikingly bright color palette. Adding a touch of humor, her playful titles and subtle satire, such as the juxtaposition of animal heads on human bodies, infuse a delightful whimsy into her creations.
