Focusing on light is a natural progression. India’s landscapes, rich with light and shade and interwoven with myriad colors, inspire his work. His landscapes, both titled and untitled, exhibit a progression of colors from whites and yellows to greys, blues, and greens. He often transitions to cool colors with resonant flashes of white. His non-figurative works draw parallels to Gaitonde's ethereal spaces and Ram Kumar's earthy mappings. Balu's art captures temple portals, prayer courtyards, and meditative sanctums, conveying a transcendental yearning. With color as his language and contour as his tool, Balu’s art reflects the evolving spectrum of human emotions and memory.
